Offering Remote Assistance

No matter how many times I do it I always seem to forget the steps required to offer remote assistance using Windows XP/2003. It is hidden deeply under a few options that you have to click in the correct order to get to the right place. So here it is…

To offer Remote Assistance without an invitation:

1. Click Start, and then click Help and Support.

2. Under Pick a task, click Tools.

3. Under Tools in the left pane, click Offer Remote Assistance.

4. Type the name or the IP address of the computer you want to connect to, and then click Connect, as shown in Figure 4 below.

Create a shortcut to the following url:
